Hi Judy!

The cicadas come from the Cicada Parade-a project, which is a public art installation project in Chicago. They made cicadas for the artists in the project to paint, and they made some to sell as well. I am one of the artists in the Chicago installation project and the library saw that and reached out to me. The cicadas that the library has were purchased from the project at The Insect Asylum in Chicago (a really cool place, BTW). They are $75 each. I am not sure how many they have on hand currently as the demand for them has been very high. I have some contact information for them for you too. They are slow to get back to folks, but they do get back to everyone. I’m going to share the contact info with you and some additional links you might find helpful.

I hope that is helpful! If I learn anything new, I’ll let you know.
